It was the day after Christmas when I received some news that knocked the wind out of me.

Christmas day was the final day to meet some business goals in my Beachbody business. After meticulously checking details for days leading up to Christmas, I was confirmed that my team had reached them.

I woke the next day to find we hadn’t.

Only, we had. I was sure of it. My head was spinning. What had I missed?

Sadly, I shared my situation on a Facebook leadership group page of which I’m a member, along with other top coaches. And then, I received a lesson I’ll never forget.

The messages started coming in. Support. Love. Encouragement. Questions. Offers of help. Even phone calls. From Coaches who have absolutely NOTHING to do with my team. Coaches, from Hawaii. California, Minnesota, Tennessee, Virgina. I was floored.

And humbled.

The actions of these coaches revealed a serious lack of gratitude, or rather, a lack of spontaneous extensions of gratitude in my own life.

Thankfully, my situation did get resolved. But up until it did, I was COVERED in well wishes, and assistance from those who are not affected whatsoever from my team.

My goal for 2014? To write one thank-you note a day. A total of 365.

Hand-written. No emails. No texts. Mailed. Or handed to the recipient. No playing “catch-up”. One a day. Everyday I give thought to whom I’d like to thank, and then keep track of the people on a calendar. I have even started a Facebook group for this challenge.

Why?

Because I have this overwhelming desire to  intentionally bless even one person daily. For I have been unbelievably blessed, and have come to realize that I don’t always treat others, as they have treated me.

Thanking others blesses them.

But I am being changed in the process.

It’s now a 12 day habit for me. And I set out every morning, wondering to whom I will write. I pray. I asked God to reveal a name to me. It gives me time to reflect on them. And then, pen to paper.

You are welcome to join us! It’s not too late. And you do not have to make up the last 12 days. For that’s the whole point:

No pressure. Simply start.

Thank.
