Heat Wave

I just got done watching The Blind Side with my children. They were mesmerized by Leigh Anne Tuohy, who they found to be both tough and loving. Oh, and funny. The best quote of the night came from my son who pronounced that other than the fact that I'm not "country", Leigh Anne and I were/are similar. I was flattered. And affirmed. By my own son. See, tonight, he got a completely different glimpse of what a Christian woman can be. Not that he's surrounded by stereotypes, but it was the strength, the determination, and, well, guts of Leigh Anne, [...]

Course Corrections

I don't sail. Nor do I even intend to throw sailing lingo into this post to dupe you into thinking that I know what I'm talking about. So let's just get that clear from the get-go. What I do know, however, is that in order to reach a destination by boat, one must make course corrections along the route. These corrections can be ever so slight . . . seemingly insignificant. Just Keep Swimming

Seems to me that it is our own thinking that tends to hijack our best laid plans and dreams. It was only a mere 3 years ago that in the thick of navigating through how to handle my husband's depression, I made a bold step to begin exercising again. And not just that. My step included helping others as well. At the darkest part of our 20 years together, I started a new business. It was walk on water decision. From there, I began writing again. And acting - something that had been put on hold for years. I was [...]

Sink or . . . WALK.

We're stepping out of the boat this week at Daily Fast Fuel. Yes. Into the big ocean. Or lake. Heck, even stepping into a stream shows faith. And we're asking you to do the same. We know, it's a big step. It's wet. And who knows how deep it is or what's lurking beneath the surface? But, the boat - you know, is getting kind of, well, stale. Can't stay here forever. We're stepping out. Joining us? Joline Atkins is your server today! Find out more about her here and don't forget to sign up for updates by email or [...]
